Whether natural grain finish or paint, this piece is a wonderful Shaker interpretation cupboard.  The drawers in the base feature hand cut dovetails with chamfered bottoms.  The simple dovetailed base molding adds a strong foundation to this majestic yet simple design.  The case above is fastened together with dovetails and the shelves are dadoed into the sides.  The crown molding is fastened to the side of the cabinet with sliding dovetails allowing the wood sides to expand and contract without opening the mitered joints of the molding.  Pegged mortise and tenon joinery throughout.  Cupboard back boards are all 1/2" thick and lapped.
